Yesterday a software/firmware update was released for iPhone users. This update contained multiple fixes and additions (such as access to the iTunes store). It also did something that many people consider to be unfair.
An unlocked iPhone allows third party software on it as well allows the iPhone to go to another network (the US iPhone is originally meant for the AT&T network). Well apparently Apple didn't like this very much and figured it was against there End User License Agreement. So.. installing this firmware update will render all/most modified iPhones useless, allowing only emergency calls (as required by law). the iPhone will then say "Insert valid and unlocked Sim Card."
I feel bad for the guys who've spent that much money.
I'm sure hackers will find another way around it. This will keep happening every firmware update. It'll be like a game of cat and mouse for the hackers. The whole "You caught us now, we will escape and you will have to catch us again" attitude. Fight the good fight.
